Fireman need to be ready to roll at any time. They just put their fire suits over their puppy jammies when they have to go. There's a lot of downtime, so it's good to have toys like softballs and wrenches to eat while you wait on the call.

That is a hammer, isn't it? One time Brendan's great uncle Kevin was riding by a fire station with Mama Kelley and he yelled "OUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE!" out the window, then turned to Mama and said "I hope they don't get there before we do!"
Hmph. I thought everyone knew that a fireman's wrench looks like a hammer. How do you think they get the fire hydrants open?
